Preparing for Ownership Transition: Succession & Valuation for Contractors

Date: Tuesday, October 20

Time: 4:30-6:00pm

Location:  Gross, Mendelsohn & Associates
Mchenry Row
1801 Porter St #500, Baltimore, MD 21230

Join us for a contractor-focused discussion on preparing for ownership transition. This session will cover key aspects of succession planning, financial readiness and business valuation.

The reality: many construction companies aren’t as ready — or as valuable — as owners think. The moves you make now directly impact what your business is worth and whether you can exit on your terms. This session will give you a clear view of where you stand and what to fix before it’s too late.

In this session, you’ll learn how to:

  • Understand why succession planning is critical—and why waiting can cost you
  • Navigate common succession challenges unique to contractors
  • Build a practical timeline and transition plan
  • Evaluate how contractor businesses are valued—and what drives that value
  • Avoid common valuation pitfalls
  • Improve company value ahead of a sale or transition
  • Get your financials in order with accurate, transparent reporting
